Here Philipp Eduard Henselt becomes partner of the cotton manufacturer Johann Martin Stirner (1776 \u2013 1851).<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1814 &#8211; 1817 Adolph Henselt at Schwabach<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>09\/05\/1814<\/strong> Georg Martin Adolph Henselt is born in Schwabach, in the dwellinghouse of the former Cotton manufactory, today 13 Penzendorfer Stra\u00dfe.<\/p>\n<p>Mother: Carolina Sophia Henselt, n\u00e9e Geigenm\u00fcller (1786 -1822)<\/p>\n<p>Father: Philipp Eduard Henselt (1777 \u2013 1830), cottonmanufacturer in Rothenthal nearGreiz.<\/p>\n<p>In his first marriage he was married to Dorothea B\u00f6rner (1776 &#8211; 1805), in his second marriage to Carolina Geigenm\u00fcller<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"western\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1817 &#8211; 1833 Adolph Henselt in Munich<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>23\/01\/1817<\/strong> The Henseltfamily, now with 6 children, moves from Schwabach to Munich. There the father leases the cottonmanufactury of the Count of Arco on Oberk\u00f6llnbach.<\/p>\n<p>In Munich, three more children are born who, however, already die as babies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1820<\/strong> Henselt attends the St.Anna-Suburb elementary school and then, probably from 1824 on, the Latin school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1822<\/strong> Henselt\u00b4s older sister is given pianolessons, Adolph himself, for the timebeing, is given violin lessons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>06\/03\/1822<\/strong> When Henselt is 8, his mother dies at the age of 36.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1823<\/strong> Henselt is given pianolessons by Emanuel Lasser (1784 &#8211; 1825).<\/p>\n<p><strong>1827<\/strong> Josepha von Flad, n\u00e9e Kanzler (1778 &#8211; 1843), gives Henselt pianolessons,<\/p>\n<p><strong>12\/03\/1829<\/strong> At the age of 14, Henselt gives his first public concert at the Munich Odeon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>27\/06\/1830<\/strong> Henselt is 16 when his father dies at the age of 53.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1831\/1832<\/strong> King Ludwig I. of Bavaria (1776 &#8211; 1868) grants a scholarship for piano studies with J.N. Hummel (1778 \u2013\u00a0 1837) in Weimar from October 1831 toMarch 1832.<\/p>\n<p><strong>28\/11\/1832<\/strong> Henselt gives his second public concert at the Munich Odeon.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1833 &#8211; 1836 Adolph Henselt in Vienna<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>1833<\/strong> He studies in Vienna, e.g. a two-year study of composition with Simon Sechter (1788 &#8211; 1867).<\/p>\n<p><strong>1833<\/strong> First own compositions, which are published much later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10\/03\/1836<\/strong> Henselt plays Beethoven&#8217;s c-minor pianoconcerto with his own cadence.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1836 &#8211; 1838 Adolph Henselt on concert tours in Germany<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>25\/06\/1836<\/strong> In Berlin, Henselt plays in a private circle at the house of the instrument-maker to the Royal Prussian Court Heinrich Kisting (1780 &#8211; 1856). It is probably in Berlin where he gets to know Carl Banck, which is the beginning of a close, lifelong friendship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mid-1836<\/strong> Because of his poor health, due to exertions and stress, Henselt takes a cure in Karlsbad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Autumn 1836<\/strong> During alonger stay with Hummelin Weimar he meets RosalieVogel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11\/01\/1837<\/strong> Henselt gives his first public concert in Jena.<\/p>\n<p><strong>28\/01\/1837<\/strong> Henselt gives aconcert in Dresden.<\/p>\n<p><strong>08\/05\/1837<\/strong> Henselt gives his first public concert in Berlin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mid-1837<\/strong> In Breslau Henselt composes his famous \u00c9tudes op. 2 and op. 5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>24\/10\/1837<\/strong> Henselt marries Rosalie, n\u00e9e Manger(1807 &#8211; 1893), in Bad Salzbrunn\/Silesia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>29\/12\/1837<\/strong> Henselt&#8217;s public concert at the Leipzig &#8220;Gewandhaus\u201d concert hall.<\/p>\n<p>11\/01\/1838 Henselt gives a public concert in Dresden. This is his last public performance in Germany.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1838 \u2013 1889 Adolph Henselt in St. Petersburg<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>(all dates according to the Julian calendar)<\/p>\n<p><strong>24\/01\/1838<\/strong> On a trip to St. Petersburg Henselt performs in a concert in Warsaw. There he gets to know the violinist Henri Vieuxtemps (1820 \u2013 1881).<\/p>\n<p><strong>21\/03\/1838<\/strong> First public concert in Russia in the Great Theatre of St.Petersburg. After the overwhelming success he follows the wishes of the czar and stays in St.Petersburg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>19\/04\/1839<\/strong> Birth of his son Alexander Adolphowitsch Henselt (* 19\/04, 01\/05\/1839 in St. Petersburg,+ 29\/01, 10\/02\/1878 in Samaraon Wolga).<\/p>\n<p><strong>30\/04\/1839<\/strong> Henselt is appointed royal pianist by the czar Alexandra Fjodorowna (1798 \u2013 1860).<\/p>\n<p><strong>1839 Henselt<\/strong> (25 years old) teaches 21-year old Alexander, later czar Alexander II (1818 \u2013 1881) and six other children of the czar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>18\/09\/1852<\/strong> Purchase of the man or and castle in Gersdorfon Queis, districtof Bunzlau.<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 1857<\/strong> Visit of his son in Breslau on the trip from St. Petersburg to Gersdorf.<\/p>\n<p><strong>14\/03\/1861<\/strong> On command of his majesty czar Alexander II. Adolph Lwowitsch Henselt is appointed hereditary peer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>04\/01\/1866<\/strong> Selling the manorin Gersdorf for 67,000 thalers to the Dutchman Dr. jur. Reinhardus de Graaf after a little more than 13 years (Gregorian calendar).<\/p>\n<p><strong>1868<\/strong> Henselt writes the text book &#8220;Some remarks and long-term experiences about teaching the piano. As a guide for teachers and students in the imperial institute and for teaching of all concerned\u201d . It is published at Th. Stellowsky in St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1871<\/strong> Purchase of a large villa in Bad Warmbrunn (Polish: Cieplice Slaskie Zdroj).<\/p>\n<p><strong>1873<\/strong> Henselt publishes his book \u201c On elementary musicaltheory\u201d .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nov. 1874<\/strong> Henselt breaks his leftarm at thewrist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>middleof 1875<\/strong> Marie Lipsius (as a writer she called herself La Mara) publishes the third volume of the &#8220;Musical studyheads&#8221;, containing a chapter on Henselt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>29\/01\/1878<\/strong> His sonAlexander dies in Samara\/Russia from pneumonia(29\/01, 10\/02\/1878).<\/p>\n<p><strong>31\/03\/1879<\/strong> Henselt is appointed Royal Russian Privy Council.<\/p>\n<p><strong>19\/07\/1879<\/strong> Henselt visits Lisztin Weimar on 19\/20 July.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dec. 1880<\/strong> Henselt composes a cantata for the 50-year anniversary of the cultural and social work of Prince Peter of Oldenbourg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12\/05\/1883<\/strong> Honours for the 25-year anniversary as ageneral musicalinspector in St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1887\/1888<\/strong> Henselt is a professor for piano at the conservatory in St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10\/10\/1889<\/strong> Henselt spends his annual summerholiday in Warmbrunn.
